"Spanish Moon Moth" continues Matthew Palladino’s ongoing series of watercolor moths. The image is built around symmetry and repetition, with the form mirrored vertically to create an image that feels both precise and slightly uncanny, echoing the visual logic of playing card compositions.

Color flows and overlaps across the surface, with pigments bleeding into one another and settling naturally. This interaction creates a sense of depth and movement, while the image remains anchored by a clear, symmetrical structure. Eye-like markings across the wings draw the viewer in and reward closer inspection.

The print is translated directly from the original watercolor, retaining the character and rhythm of the painted image while adapting it into a more graphic, editioned format.
